SUVs and crossovers better watch out because The Wagon Is Back!

For as long as I can remember, my aunt would only buy Volvos. Four-door, station wagon, white, blue, gray – she’s probably owned them all at one point or another. She felt safe in them and trusted their reliability. The moment I hear Volvo, I immediately think of my aunt and her never-ending supply of Volvo vehicles.

At one point, she even passed one down to my dad. He drove that car hard but it just kept running. When we first moved back from the Netherlands, he even let us borrow it for a bit. Parts were missing, brakes were almost shot, and it was so loud that no verbal communication was possible. Still, it kept going and brought us where we needed to go until we bought a car of our own.

Volvo V60 Sportswagon – The Wagon is Back!

The Volvo wagon has been around for decades, touching many past generations and creating loyal fans along the way from all walks of life. Now, in 2014, it’s time to welcome the newest addition to the iconic family vehicle line – the Volvo V60 Sportswagon. Yes, TheWagonIsBack.com !

Enthusiasts will be happy to know they’ve kept the good and just made it better. It’s safe, reliable, AND it actually looks pretty sweet while sporting drool-worthy features. A few of those include:

  • Power and automatic everything
  • Rain sensors
  • Cross traffic alert
  • Adaptive digital display
  • Active dual xenon headlights
  • Headlight washers
  • Grocery bag holders (How awesome is this?!)
  • Tri-folding rear sets

The Volvo V60 Sportwagon aims to be the ultimate wagon to fit your lifestyle. Body changes give a modern look without sacrificing key design elements such as the wide, broad appearance. Inside, the buckets seats that hug the driver and passenger in place resemble fine furniture with it’s dual-color leather fabric and prominent stitching. The back seats fold down 40/20/40 so you can configure the cargo area as needed.

Volvo Safety

Of course, we can’t forget the level of safety Volvo maintains. The V60 comes equipped with Volvo IntelliSafe. Two features this system includes, City Safety and optional Pedestrian & Cyclist Detection, are especially appealing to me. While driving in San Francisco, the latter will come in handy fairly often.

So whether you’re a beach bum, a work/stay at home mom, a carpool driver, an outdoor enthusiast, a pet lover, or anything else, the Volvo V60 Sportwagon may just be the right fit for you. After skimming through all the goodness this car has to offer, I can’t wait to get my hands on the wheel and give it a spin!

I am so happy that they are bringing the wagon back! I love wagons and wish more people would find them so attractive as I do. I just bought another station wagon yesterday in fact. My third! I havent dove into Volve territory yet, but i’ve strongly considered getting an old 240d Wagon many times :) Great post!

We had a station wagon (not a Volvo or anything as cool as this one) when I was a kid and I loved it. Now, I can say the wagon has come a long way! :)
